Fr Denis was driving through Karonga and was flagged down by a group of youths.  They had been fishing in the lake when one was attacked by a crocodile.  He drove the injured man to the local hospital and is awaiting further news.

This event was very well sponsored and raised £1275.00 for twinning funds.

The Music for Malawi evening was a great success and raised £835.00 for twinning funds, as well as being very enjoyable

Emergency Appeal – 18/12/2005

The emergency appeal for the famine in Malawi has now closed, it raised over 18,000.00. Half of this amount has been sent to our “linked Priest’s” during November 2005, the balance will be sent during January 2006 to further assist the purchase of food. The Malawi Twinning Team wishes to thank the Parishioners of Corpus Christi & St Peter’s for their support and generosity.

 

Emergency Appeal – 01/11/2005

The emergency appeal launched in response to the news of the famine in Malawi has raised over 9000.00 in its first week. This money will be sent to our linked parishes within the next few days.

 

Sponsorship Agreements – 01/11/2005

We now have over forty sponsorships agreed, at an annual cost of 90.00 each. This is very praiseworthy and should prove of immense help to the people in the twinning project
